A Writer’s Journey: The Curious Case of the App Date Company An ambitious writer, eager to land an exciting new role, receives an unusual application task. The challenge? Write a short text sharing thoughts about Tinder—the dating app. An interesting twist for an app date company, right? Specific? Absolutely. Intriguing? Without a doubt. With creativity in full gear, I crafted my response, blending wit and insight, fully embracing the unexpected prompt. From there, the doors opened to a series of interviews that felt increasingly promising, each step seemingly closer to an exciting opportunity. And then…silence. Despite progressing through several interview stages, the company disappeared without a word. No feedback, no follow-up—just the lingering mystery of what happened to the opportunity that seemed so close. Was the Tinder-inspired task the ultimate test of my storytelling skills? Was there some hidden meaning behind it all? Or perhaps this is just another one of those unexplained moments in a writer’s journey. For now, it remains a curious chapter—a testament to the endless craving for stories and the irreplaceable magic of crafting short tales.  It's moments like these that reignite my passion for storytelling: the twists that surprise, the turns that challenge and spark curiosity and imagination, all weaving together into narratives that stay with us long after they're told.

How do you feel about Tinder becoming so popular?

People are lonely and looking for love. According to app review website AppAnnie, dating app Tinder is one of the most popular tools for pursuing modern romance and has been ranked as the lifestyle app. Compared to other online dating sites, tinder is based on dating based on physical appearance only. people only connect people if they physically like each other. I think I have to be honest, that it's normal, that the physical is important. The majority of users are between 18 and 34 years old but Tinder is mainly used by people under 25 years old. That's probably the mentality at that age. The app is available in over 196 countries. Nevertheless, a 2017 study of motivations for using Tinder found love to be a more common motivation than casual sex.

Tinder has become popular thanks to the fact that it was an app, Tinder expanded from iPhone phones to Android ones, and later arrived others dating apps; to targeted marketing operations, for example Tinder began by paying for a college student's birthday party in exchange for a bouncer who refused to let in people who didn't download the app, or went to cafes with their demographic target, 20-30 year olds and spoke loudly about the app; and being the first among contestants to recognise that today's people were busy with various responsibilities and hobbies, and didn't want to wait days for an answer. Tinder has become popular due to its branding, flexibility, and responsiveness to its audience.

Please generally describe your experience using dating sites and apps.

I'm not interested in dating sites in general. I never signed up for any. I was registered by someone on a dating site 'adopt a guy'. I spoke with many boys. Those I met were looking for ass plans; you could talk to them, but in the end, it was always sex they were looking for. You could also meet a boy in the evening if he was nearby, and in this sense I found the application nice. I met a few boys, if you're looking for one-night stands, that's fine, I had a few nice moments. Some boys asked me what a girl as beautiful as me was doing on this network. If you are looking to chat only with boys, it doesn't seem like the best way, although I've had a few cool chats on the site, and nothing more. Perhaps some people have found love on this app but it's definitely not my experience.
